A subtle swing leads you through this pack’s array of lineal mutant grooves, with the studio’s usual knack for blending surgically-precise percussion patterns, perennial thumping woody kick drums, and analogue-grit-filled synth lines and arpeggios. This time around, the melodies take on a rougher, grittier aspect that gives the whole a slightly earthier vibe, as the sound objects ebb closer to acoustic simulation than current through VCOs.
