Hailing from Germany, Italian-born artist, sound designer and producer Odeon comes through with a powerfully original take on UKG that is less about rambunctious booty-shaking and more of an introspective mood piece… Odeon, real name Matteo Barcaiolo, is an artist whose practice is steeped in the mixing and melding of seemingly-sundry influences and styles, from breakbeat to atmospheric electronica and lo-fi house, into a blend all of his own. His eclectic influences and hard to pin down sound have made him an in-demand composer for both artistic and advertising endeavors, working more closely on his own productions exemplified with recent singles like “Esedra” or remixes for Minds&Machines.
